Cerca Debuts New Student Mode, Begins Nationwide College Tour

Cerca, the dating app geared towards dating mutuals rather than strangers, has launched a new Student Mode tailor-made for college campuses. Students verify with a school email address and once at least 40 users from the same institution are active, that campus “goes live.” At that point, verified students receive daily, curated matches from within their university based on compatibility insights, without needing prior social contacts – ensuring that they’re not just limited to close friends, but also other students that they may only have met once or twice before.

Cerca retains its invitation-only ethos: users must invite friends or bypass waitlists through existing contacts, reinforcing a community-centred approach. The app continues to apply its signature features, such as limited daily profiles and scheduled match reveals at 8 p.m – with this new feature also adding the improved security of users having to be verified as part of the college. This ensures that students only match with other students.

In tandem with the platform’s rollout, Cerca is launching its first nationwide college tour to encourage in-person interaction. The tour will bring real-life mixers and parties to universities across the East, South, West, and Midwest, providing spaces for organic connection beyond the app. This also includes sponsorships with a number of brands, such as SUNBOY (a alcoholic coconut water brand) and Earth Store (a sustainable compostable/recyclable plastic cup business).
