Snapchat Revamps Family Hub to Strengthen Parental Controls

Snapchat has introduced a redesigned version of its Family Safety Hub, aimed at improving access to parental tools and safety information within the app. The updated hub brings together a collection of resources designed to help parents better understand and manage their children’s activity on Snapchat.

The refreshed platform includes detailed guides, instructional videos, frequently asked questions, and links to policy documents, all organized for easier navigation. Snap says the hub will serve as a central location for parents to access Family Center, its in-app suite of parental controls, with clear steps to help families get started. The page is expected to be updated regularly as new safety features are rolled out.

As Snap themselves stated in the news post about the release, “this page will be updated regularly to reflect (their) continued efforts to enhance (their) safety features” – meaning that this new set of parental controls is likely a long-term project that will see constant tweaks and improvements.

The redesign comes as part of Snapchat’s ongoing collaboration with Common Sense Media, an organization focused on providing trustworthy media and technology guidance for families. The partnership reflects Snap’s effort to position itself as a responsible platform in the ongoing debate around youth social media usage and online safety. Alongside the hub, Snapchat is launching a new YouTube playlist aimed at educating parents through curated video content about online risks and how to use its safety features.
