A new dating and social networking platform, Meetline, has launched globally with a focus on connecting users through shared public transportation routes. Now available on iOS and Android, the app is active in over 1,200 cities and integrates with more than 7,000 public transit systems.
Unlike traditional dating apps that rely on location-based swiping, Meetline uses transit data to match individuals based on overlapping travel routes and commuting habits. The platform aims to create opportunities for users to meet others during their daily journeys, whether for dating, friendship, or networking.
Meetline is positioning itself as a tool for building real-world connections by aligning social interaction with existing daily routines. A premium version of the app is also available, offering additional features and customization. Key features include route-based matchmaking, a design focused on privacy by hiding specific route information, integrated chat options and a “Guardian Angel” mode that allows users to group up for safety on late-night commutes.
According to co-founder and CEO Maxime Segal, the goal is to “bring back the spontaneity of real-life encounters” by integrating social discovery into everyday commuting. The launch marks the first global dating app specifically designed for public transit users, targeting a large and underutilized user context in the dating tech market – and one that might be important for giving people a more “natural” way to meet.
