Tinder Launches New Marketing Activities in Thailand

Tinder has launched two new tailored marketing initiatives in Thailand. The dating platform is releasing in-app profile stickers relating to the country’s Songkran festival, and creating new connections at an iconic Muay Thai stadium in Bangkok.

Songkran Stickers

The first initiative from Tinder in Thailand revolves around Songkran, Thailand’s largest festival. The dating app identified that mentions of ‘Songkran’ rose by 5.5x in April 2024, signifying that daters are looking to make new connections during this celebratory time.

To help Tinder users in Thailand celebrate this special occasion, from April 11 they’ll be able to choose four new stickers to add to their profile. These stickers are based around iconic imagery related to Songkran:

“The Thai elephant is known for its love of splashing water, just like people during Songkran.”“The water gun, essential equipment for the fun-loving water warriors.”“Building a Chedi from sand is a traditional activity at temples during Songkran.”“The traditional silver bowl used for splashing water on elders as a sign of respect.”

Tinder’s ‘Single’s Cam’ at Muay Thai Stadium

To help bring sports-lovers together, Tinder is launching its ‘Single’s Cam’ at Bangkok’s Rajadamnern Stadium, an established venue for Muay Thai.

On a fight night, attendees who opt-in could be brought on-screen alongside another person from the crowd, a homage to the ‘Kiss Cam’ that’s brought out at other sporting events. This potential couple can then signal if they’re interested in matching.

The Single’s Cam will be available throughout April, May, and June of this year. Additionally, Muay Thai has been added as an interest on Tinder, signifying the sport’s growing popularity worldwide.

Mentions of the combat sport have increased by 20% among Thai Tinder bios when compared with last year, the dating app shared.
