TikTok has launched a new affiliate initiative aimed at streamlining in-app promotions for the hospitality sector. The program, called “TikTok Go,” allows creators to tag hotels in their posts and earn commissions on any bookings generated directly from their content.
Initially focused on hotel promotions, the feature is designed to make monetization more accessible for creators while offering hotels a low-cost way to reach new customers. Eligible creators can access TikTok Go under the “Monetization” section of their account settings in select regions. Once inside, they can browse a list of participating hotels, each showing potential commission rates.
Creators can select a property, tap “Post content” within the listing, and automatically include the relevant location tag and booking information in their TikTok video. Posts will be labelled to indicate that the creator earns commissions, ensuring transparency for viewers.
The approach allows hotels to tap into TikTok’s influencer-driven discovery model without relying on informal negotiations for free stays or discounted rates. Instead, the program offers a standardised way for creators – particularly smaller ones -to monetize travel content, while giving hotels direct booking opportunities from engaged audiences.
TikTok has positioned this as its first vertical-specific rollout for affiliate promotions. The company plans to expand the model into additional categories such as food, wellness, education, and broader travel experiences. For now, TikTok Go is available to creators in Indonesia, Japan, and the United States, with further markets expected in future. While large influencers may still seek bespoke partnerships, TikTok’s move signals a push toward scalable, commission-based monetization within the platform’s ecosystem.
